Today I toured the Star Princess in San Francisco, and I took photos of all the 'improvements' and changes that happened that I could see.

A September email from my sales rep about what did and didn't get done on Star:

"Some of the previously announced Star Princess renovations during her September 2008 drydock will not be performed.  The following items will still be completed during her upcoming drydock:

New International Café
New Vines Bar
New Vines Shop
New Internet Café and Library
Conversion of Merdian Bay into Essence
Conversion of Essence into Meridian Bay
New Sanctuary, and adults-only retreat
New Movies Under the Stars

The following previously communicated items will not occur:

Creation of seven new window suites (suites with window and no balcony)
Relocation of the Casino from deck 6 to deck 7
Relocation of the Steakhouse from deck 7 to deck 6 (Crown Grill)
New video arcade on deck 6
Relocation of the Captain Circle Office from deck 7 to deck 6
Relocation of the boutique Manager Office from deck 7 to deck 5

Yield will work with passengers currently booked in the window suites to accommodate them in other cabins.

The deck plans in the 2009/2010 brochures for Star Princess were printed with the original changes planned and are no longer correct.  Updated deck plans will be available in the
e-brochures available on princess.com.  Additionally, travel agent deck plans posted on Onesource will be updated. "

And I haven't heard yet if they're going to go forward with the 'other' improvements planned, but I hope they don't bother.  I love the fact that the wedding chapel I was married in wasn't relocated!
