This voyage departs Sydney on 14 July 2008.
Is there anyone boarding Sun Princess at: Sydney/Auckland/Tahiti/Hawaii/SanFrancisco/Canada/Alaska/China/Singapore/Darwin,
and points in between wanting to join this roll call and share information and recipes?
(just kidding on the recipes)
We saw this cruise as a good opportunity to cruise places without having to fly halfway around the world to get on the boat.

Baglad.. we arrive back in Sydney on SP from our S813 'Northern Explorer cruise, 14 July, same day as you leave.
An old workmate of mine is doing the 75 dayer S814.  He tells me the ship is sailing full as he tried to get an upgrade from inside to outside cabin to no avail.   It will be one big party..many Aussies on board. Grin

Enjoy..!!

Thanks for the info, Les.
I've only seen the "Inside" option promoted recently and that explains why.
We figure that its not the end of the world with an inside cabin........at least you're on board.
Mind you, we wouldn't turn down a balcony upgrade, which now seems remoter considering that the ship appears to be full.
At least you won't have to change any currency for your trip.
S814 goes through 15 currency zones according to my calculations.
The U.S. dollar used to have universal appeal in most places so we will see if that still applies.
My target is not to accumulate significant amounts of currency that is not readily traded elsewhere.
The on board currency is AUD so that helps.
Bye for now.

Baglad..we have an inside cabin C536 on SP for S813 Northern Explorer cruise in June and outside D702 for Treasures of Asia cruise in June 2009.   I am told by Aussies who have been on SP that ALL cabins, apart from Suites and mini suites of course are compact.   Still a balcony cabin would be nice, would it not.?

Yes this cruise A$ only, you will be OK, A$ is getting closer to US$. As for changing money we were on Regal Princess (now Pacific Dawn) last year LA to Syd, through the Pacific, we changed no OZ or US money, got no pacific french francs or Fiji dollars..they took OZ or US, but you are going further afield, so you will need some Canadian $, Yen at least.

Cheers..Les  (Looks a beauty that 75 day'er.) Cool
