Happy New Year to ALL.  Here's your chance to tell us about your 2009 Princess cruising plans.  My 2009 Princess bookings include 3 days in April with a Princess Bangkok hotel package then off to sea on the Diamond Princess for a repositioning cruise from Bangkok to Whittier.  That cruise will last 32 days I believe.  I'm expecting Princess prices to start seriously dropping during wave season and am already thinking about a nice, cheap Princess 2009 fall cruise.  Then there's Princess dreaming right now for a cruise in the Baltic in 2010 with my dear wife and granddaughter.

What are your New Year's Princess plans and resolutions?

Host Mike, that sounds like a dream vacation.  Thailand looks like a facinating country; and 32 days on Diamond Princess from the exotic Far East to Alaska would be heaven on earth.

For myself, I seem to have picked a lousy year to retire; but my crystal ball back in January was a little cloudy.  This is the first time in many years I have not had a cruise on deposit.  But I have had four wonderful cruises in the last two years, so I'm not complaining.  Right now we are thinking Hawaii in the Fall of '10.  The schedules aren't out yet but I am hoping Princess goes back to 15 days for its round trip from Los Angeles.

We did the Baltic last year and it was a wonderful and educational cruise.  Host Mike, I know you will enjoy it and it will be an extraordinary experience for your granddaughter.

New Years' resolutions?  Gave 'em up years ago; never kept 'em anyway.

Happy New Year Mike.   Grin we are hoping to do another Panama Canal trip, but not sure if we can do full transit or just the round trip from Ft Lauderdale.  Have to wait a few months to see how things hopefully settle back to normal.   Huh   Wishing everyone here on Princess Only a very Happy and Healthy 2009!

Happy New Year to you as well Mike.
You appear to have a wonderfull cruise lined up... 32 days... that will be amazing, considering the culture shifts.
We have a 14 day Caribbean run lined up in several weeks, and then nothing on the books until January 2010, when we hope to take one of our daughters, and her three kids, for a 7 day Caribbean cruise.
Certainly nothing exotic, but all cruises have their merits.
The upcoming cruise was paid for, in $CAD,  before we took a hit on the exchange rate.
Future plans will likely be determined by the economy, and the discounts that, as you mention, will turn up in the autumn.

Mike That sounds like a wonderful cruise. I am luckly to get my wife on a 10 day cruise. She likes home and does not like to be gone to long. We have a 12 day land and sea cruise in Alaska on the Coral starting July 1st in Fairbanks.

Happy New Year to you all.

We will spend 2 days in Seattle, then board the Pacific Princess for 14 days in Alaska.  It will be our third trip to Alaska (others were cruisetours).  It will be our first time on a small ship.  We are really looking forward to experiencing the smaller ship and seeing the added ports on this cruise that you don't get on the other cruises.

naplesam, that is a cruise I would love to take.  I've done the 7 day and 10 day; but 14 days on one of the R Class ships would be great--not only for the smaller ship, but as you say, the extra ports you never get to see.  Have a very Happy New Year.

Ah, cruise plans.
Well, In May of 09, we're sailing <whisper>on HAL  Roll Eyes</whisper>, though I am watching for a great Fall cruise, preferably to Mexico or Hawaii, with Princess.
In 2010, we are doing the Panama canal transit, from Ft. Lauderdale to San Francisco, on the Sea Princess. That's 14 days of bliss to look forward to!  Grin
