Hi Linda! Aw - I am sure once we are on our way you wont even notice were in the middle of the ocean there will be too much to do! I have been very busy, the weather has been so nice and mild - its giving me a taster of whats to come. I got some more bits and peices, I think I will need to nick some of Eds space in his cases to get it all in! Kyle is still very indifferent to going! I supose its his age, he asked a few questions and that was it, it was his last day at school today and a Muffiti day (you pay a pound and can wear your own clothes) I said to him if he wanted to wear any of his new stuff he could - he declined saying he was saving his new stuff for the holiday!

Oh Ingrid i forgot to mention , yes ive got my party frocks, lol, 3 long ones and 200 other things, lmao, i think i need to empty it out and think again, i am going to try and take one pairr of high heels that will go with all 3 dresses, ive got a neutral couloured pair i got for my presentation dance in november there, i havent wore them since so they will go with just about anything as they are a light tanny goldy skin coloured shoe, what you think, and god knows what i`m gona wear on my feet at night in the other clothes, shoes take up so much room, ive got my crocs, toe posts ,trainers already and those heeled ones dont know if theres room for more, but there will need to be, i`m glad i`n not a jewellry person, lol, i dont like things hanging from my ears and from my neck, but i did get one necklace when i was over in Limerick in september for a hen weekend for stevens partners fiance (now wife), its the only thing that i have liked, and i love silver or platinum if i take a liking to something, i wear my rings but thats because i`m married if i wasnt i wouldnt wear rings either, i do like to see women all glitzed up in theres but not me as i have a phobia about anything touching my ears (yuk). i bought a beautiful bracelet about 15 yrs ago as it really caught my eye it was silver and light gold and the first day i wore it i lost it, was real peeved, i tried to get another but it was a one off so never seen one since, any way rabbiting here , i hope that chris gets everything in order before she gets to gatwick with her parents and her aunts funeral, take care speak in a while

Posted on other site so will not do it again.
I am nearly ready for the off. I don't think we will go down and see the parents before we fly. It is all quiet on that front at the moment and I know if I see them and Dad looks worse, it will worry me on the cruise. Also the funeral is while we are away - must remember to do the flowers this week!! So we will go straight to the hotel. It is the Crowne Plaza at Gatwick and they have an indoor pool and gym so I expect we will go for a swim, have dinner and then early bed for a very early rise in the morning. Want to get in line early so we can ensure we sit together - not worried about a window seat - would prefer two across the aisle, then it is easier to get up and down. We managed to get a hire car for £70 and I think with the train fares from Southampton back home and a couple of taxis, it will work out at about £110 - much cheaper than driving up to Gatwick and parking for two weeks.
I am going to seriously underpack this time and then we will just have to make do. I am not really into jewellery but I do have some nice gold necklaces (my husband used to go to Saudi quite regularly and he got me some out there). I want to try and get something a bit dressy to wear with my wedding outfit - whatever that might be!! I do have a lovely gold charm bracelet which my husband adds to each year. I don't wear it very often as it catches on so many of my clothes but it is an investment as gold never goes down in price (watch the price of gold drop now I have said that). I'd like to have a few nice pieces for the kids to fight over when I am gone!!. I also am not into earrings. I did have my ears pierced years ago but when I tried to put earrings in, it used to make me feel violently ill and I just let them close over in the end.

Hi girls well were nearly ready for the off, Chris your mum and dad will be ok in your family`s hands, by the way you talk i get the feeling they live closer to them than you do, so they are more handy than you would be if needed, as to the bling, the earings going thru my ear would make me sick too, never mind that i hate things touching my ears, lol, Ingrid i am going to have to go thru my packing AGAIN , theres too much but i cant figure out what to leave out, esp with the atlantic side of it (colder) Chris did you take a cardigan or shawl for the evenings coming across the atlantic, do they heat the ship up if its colder, i cant stand the cold if i`m sitting in a bar, are you all excited now its like a numbness but nervous excitement at the same time, i hope that there wont be any last minute snaps and so on do you ever get that, the day of your holiday everyone seems to snap at each other, like steven asks me a question and i say just a minute i`m doing something, cause if i dont do it i`ll forget so he walks off muttering to himself and i say oooh whats up, we have to do all the work for arranging the holiday and they cant even check a few things out themselves, or they ask a question that they`ve already asked , then when you get to the airport its more questions bout tickets passports and so on ,lol, i`m waiting for it, i will just count to 10 and take a deep breathe, lol, ok girls , we will get there and have a huge drink at the airport, lol, at 7 in the morning, it will help me sleep on the plane as i want to get a bit of sleep as were meeting at 8ish inthe wheelhouse bar for drinks, i will be like a floppy pillow by that time, as it would be midnight to us, and up early that day, i will try desperately to stay up till departure but i doubt it, as i like my sleep and if i go too late i want to make up for it, i`ll probably wake up and miss st vincent ,lol, but again dont want to go to early as Chris and i have experienced in the US, woke up at 4.30 in the morning looking for breakfast and no where open and no milk for tea as i had used the little cartons the first night, got my travel kettle packed woohoo, as long as i have my tea i`m ok, i always disappear back to the cabin during the day for a cuppa as it cools me down and i like my own teabags with HOT water , not from room service as its a tad cold for me, ok rabbiting here, tomorrow off to the shop to buy pressies for johny in antigua (cheers bar) hes a really nice guy, who weve kept in touch with since our trip to antigua nitey nite girls

Linda I've always got a wrap to hand on the ship, especially in the dining rooms - you can always leave it off but it does get very chilly some nights. I have not packed a lot of cold weather stuff. We will be wearing warm layered clothes to travel out and I have packed our trainers and joggers and socks - oh and our cagoules and an umbrella - so we are set for any weather. If it is cold transatlantic we won't be out on the decks anyway. The way we plan our holidays is that I investigate what cruises are available, book the cruise, pay the deposit, make sure we have the remainder ready on final payment day, book precruise hotel, get the currency, plan what to take, buy what we need to take, pack the cases making sure they are not overweight (he would be appalled to have to pay extra), make sure we have insurance documents and passports and all the tickets etc. After the cruise I pack the cases. What he does is: moan that I am packing too much, label the cases, put the cases in the car (he does organise the carhire if necessary). He drives to the airport or hotel. Then it starts - he moans about everything from having to go from the ground floor level up to the departure hall at Gatwick (every time the same moans), the queues at checkin, the queues at security, having to take off his shoes and belt, etc. etc. When we actually get there and unpack he moans because I have left something out that he really desperately needed to wear. What is it with men - don't know how I have managed to spend 40+ years with him. If we do meet up on the cruise, don't mention any of the above, as he doesn't know how p**sed off it makes me - I always smile sweetly What he does do which I really bless him for, is he works really hard to earn the money for me to spend on cruises I don't expect we will go the the meet up on the first night - he is not really into that sort of thing. I have really enjoyed 'talking' to everyone on the two sites - it makes my holiday much more enjoyable. I am sure I will hear you all having a whale of a time in the Wheelhouse Bar from my cabin and it will be interesting to hear how all your holidays went - we should all make the effort and post our reviews on this site so we can compare how things went. Hope your flight out to Barbados goes well and pray for calm seas Chris
