It's a l-o-n-g way off, but I just booked the Golden Princess for the 14 day Hawaii cruise, r/t from Los Angeles.  Anybody else going, please say 'Hi".

Actually yes, we are.  Traded out the Panama Canal cruise. HI was cheaper as was the airfare R/T to LA rather than open jaw to FLL.

Yes I found the price & air fare to be cheaper than usual.  I look forward to the cruise.  Have you been to Hawaii before?  I have been a few times including a week of time share.

I've ever been to  'The Big Island' before. It's on my short list... getting awfully tired of the Caribbean stuff. Ah, a few more dollars and maybe!

We've cruised once on the Golden in 2009 and I've had several business related trips to Oahu.

Oahu is one of our least favorite places. Kuai was probably our favorite - although the big Island volcanoes are really neat.

We like the sea days over and back and if you don't do a lot of excursioning, the cruise is actually cheaper in total than a typical 14 day Caribbean.

You also need to steer clear of all the "buying opportunities" onboard

With all of the wonderful deals, I can't understand why we haven't become a ship full of millionaires.
Most here are seasoned to avoid the spas, gold by the inch, and champagne art auctions.

Oh yeah - Although I got a great deal on Judy's pearls on board one time and she loves them. But we minimize the photos, the watches and the like and max the bar bill, resturant bill and specialty eating bills - chef's table, UBD, crown grill, vines...

Of course in HI, you need to steer clear of the "buying" opportunities on shore as well - except for the flea market at Aloha Stadium!

This trip we will be doing our own excursions, walking around, and we hope to get to a couple of Guy Fieri Triple D places in Honolulu!
