We are booked on this one, albeit a long way out. A lot of Aussies on it. Any Princess Chatter members coming with us?

f-mattox it sure is an interesting itinerary...Rio, Montevideo, Buenos Airies, Falkland Islands, Cape Horn, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Santiago (Valparaiso) La Serena, Lima, Quito, Puntarenas, San Juan del Sur, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, San Francisco. With 15 sea days as well, a nice balance. Not been to Rio or San Francisco before so having 3 days in Rio for precruise (Carnivale time!) and 5 days in San Francisco post cruise. Long flights though, around 21 hours, Sydney to Rio via Santiago and a 14 hour flight back to Sydney from SF. Ship is filling fast I hear. Still room for you f-mattox ! and Mike too !

Thank you for the invite, NSWP; I would love to do 31 days but my wife won't hear of it. I would even consider doing it solo but I would have to mortgage the house .

I guess you will be crunching the numbers on a replacement for this one, Les. It must be very disappointing to have your plans usurped but the fickle finger of fate may have your best interests at heart. We've got one booked on the Eurodam around the med. Its a 20 day B2B from Rome this year. No Elite perks of course but being one of the great unwashed again might be good for the soul. It will be an interesting exercise to compare the service, etc. Ciao

Baglad, can you believe we still have not officially been notifed of the Star Pincess redeployment - cancellation of our cruise. American pax knew of it 3 weeks ago, local t/a's are still selling it, can you believe ! Pretty shabby treatment, I also have to get our $3200 back from Princess yet. We won't be doing the replacement 29 day cruise from Santiago to Fort Lauderdale, too early in the year, does not fit in with our transatlantic on Eurodam, we were doing post Star cruise and our plans within the UK post cruise Yes we too are looking forward to cruising with a different line, will be interesting to compare with Princess. Ah well more money to contribute to the US economy in Frisco and Miami precruise and Europe/UK post cruise, not forgetting onboard spending ! Adios.

Unbelievable, Les. You would think the communication back down the sales channels would be more effective. In this case it will cause extra work, loss of reputation and customer dissatisfaction. I'm sure you will get your refund soon. Who, in their right mind, would mess with NSWP? Frisco is great. We enjoyed our visit to Alcatraz and Sausilito in 2008. Last in Miami in '73 en route to Southampton on the Australis. Bit younger then - not necessarily smarter.

Baglad, we just rebooked today on Star Princess, 23 Feb, 2011, 29 nights, Valparaiso to Fort Lauderdale in lieu of the cancelled one, as per the redeployment schedule, posted elsewhere on here. This new one is a better itinerary too, overnight in Rio at Carnival time and no hotel costs, just come back to the ship. Also a very good price.
