You didn't specify which ship, but if I was offered my choice of any balcony cabin excluding suites and mini-suites, on Grand, Star, Golden, Caribbean, Crown, Emerald or Ruby Princess, I would take either C752 or C753; on Diamond or Sapphire Princess I would take either C748 or C753. These cabins face aft and are on the outside corners of Caribe Deck so you have a spectacular view, not only aft, but to the side as well. The cabins themselves are the same size as the standard balcony cabins but the balconies are larger and mostly covered.
On Island or Coral Princess I would take B734 or B737. I have not been on any of the small ships so I can't suggest anything.

I agree with f-mattox on the larger ship choices. I would add that Caribe deck balcony cabins are typically half covered and half uncovered and are larger balconies. Baja and Aloha balconies are fully covered and a bit smaller. Note that the cabins are all identical in size, only the balcony and coverage over the balcony changes.
For the Dawn, Sun and Sea, all port and starboard balcony cabins are basically created equal. The balcony cabins on Aloha, Baja and Caribe all have the same size, the "cutouts" for the balcony in the hull structure are different sizes.
There does exist a few "quad" cabins on these three ships. Sort of a bunkbed arrangement that is not adjustable.

That's my first choice: the last mini-suite on Emerald deck, with the extended balcony:

Any noise in that cabin from the Vista Lounge/Club Fusion?

That was a concern the first time I booked it, but no, not a sound, and I've had that cabin several times now--on both sides.

Hi - I'm new here...just stumbled across a post on CC that mentioned this site. I saw those pictures of E730-731 above and noticed that E730 was open for a W. Caribbean cruise in November, so I jumped on it! I might have liked an open balcony on Dolphin for this cruise, because there is a meteor shower at that time in November, but I wasn't going to be picky - especially with that nice big balcony! If only that same cabin would open up on my March '10 sailing on Emerald... I'll have to keep watching the Princess site to see if E730 opens up around final payment time.
Speaking of Dolphin deck cabins, it appears that the end minis on Dolphin have the same great balconies, but I thought there was some issue with the interior. Do they not have bath tubs or something like that?

The end minis on Dolphin Deck are wheelchair accessible cabins; the twin beds can not be converted to a queen and there is no tub in the bathroom, only a shower in the middle of the bathroom with a shower curtain and a floor drain.

Just a tip for cabin selection, due to budgetary constraints (do I sound like a Politician) ? We now go for obstructed view cabins which are generally on the boat deck, like we have on our next two ships - Star Princess (Emerald Deck) and Westerdam (Upper Promenade Deck.) BEFORE you pick your cabin..get the ship's deck plans up and ensure you get an obstructed view that has some space between the lifeboats, or you might just get a cabin with this big orange monster filling your window.

NSWP, that's good advice; I have done that many times; I'm amazed how accurate those deckplans are--when I pick a cabin between two tenders I've always had a decent ocean view.
