I was just reading on another board about a new accounting procedure that Princess is introducing which changes the way any credits are accounted for at the end of a trip. It seems that they're no longer combining any credit from one persons account to cancel a debit from the other.
The person with the debit will be charged separately and the person with the credit will lose it.
So far I've only heard about this taking place on the Star but it'll probably move to the other ships as well in the near future.
It's a sort of sneaky way to drain you of any extra cash you though you would utilize.   Angry

I had heard this was going to happen, but haven't seen it yet.  Although we will be on Star in May, so will take this as a heads up thanks!!

Normally I wouldn't take an interest but we'll also be on the Star in April.
We've been pulling out any extra cabin credit by establishing a casino account & then transferring our cabin credit to that account & pulling out the cash so I just have to make sure we have a debit for both my wife & myself. It probably won't be long before they put a stop to the casino transfer also without some sort of charge.

There are still many people who will assume that their husband or wife's credit will cancel out their charges & instead will lose it.
Very underhanded move on Princess's part.   Undecided

Well, forewarned is forearmed.  So we will all have to pay attention to the amount of cruise credits on our accounts and use them up accordingly.  As a rule we use both cruise cards to pay for drinks and such..now will be more vigilant about charges being split according to who has the greater credit.  Maybe this is a trial thing??

It could be but I'm more apt to think of it as a fluke in their accounting system. I find it hard to accept them doing anything that underhanded to confiscate unused cabin credit. It certainly doesn't do anything for their image.

On our cruise Jan 2011 , we didn't have any problem with our OBC.
In the end they combined both accounts onto one charge .

Neither did I in Jan. on the Grand but I'm not taking any chances on the Star in April.

We just got off the Star an drew down out cabin credit using the casino account charges. They did combing the charges for both myself & my wife into one credit card bill & I didn't hear of anyone complaining about loosing any cabin credit. I'm sure there would have been a ruckus the last day if they did confiscate anyone's cabin credit.
