During our recent b2b I asked the internet manager on the first day if I could carry out unused internet minuter over to the next cruise & was told NO WAY. It's been a while since we've done a b2b & I don't recall what happened since our last one but on the 2 Nd trip the unused minutes were definitely added to our account.

Going on Emerald Princess June 15 for Baltic Cruise and was wondering if you could be credited on account for unused min. I am planning on prepaying so to get some bonus minutes.

They won't give back any $$ for unused minutes. That is why you'll see loads of people at the terminal on the last sea day using up all their minutes & it's almost impossible to get a seat mid morning.
One of these days I'll get a net-book or new version of the ipad in teh fall so I don't have to use their computers.

Rich,
I'd highly recommend a netbook, from experience. In addition to precompossing your email replies, you can 'optimize' any photos you wish to send to a more reasonable size for faster uploading times. Another advantage is that you are restricted to using only one open window in most cases... on your netbook, you can run several tasks at once when opening multiple windows. Last, but not least, it's far quieter and much more pleasant to grab a tea or coffee, and a comfortable seat near the piazza. I can't weigh in on the iPad, but I'd image the same advantages hold true.

I was going to get a netbook but the trend is actually away from them lately & towards the Ipad type. It's actually getting hard to find a netbook advertized since the Ipad was introduced. They're still neat, small & convenient from what I see & if you don't need a constant connection to the web why bother with the extra cost?

On the iPad just turn your Internet connection OFF in Settings while you compose your return messages then turn on Internet in settings, connect, send and receive, log off and turn your Internet connection OFF in settings.  My iPad email online time sending and receiving is around 3-4 minutes during non-prime time.  In the wee hours of the morning the ship Internet tends to be smokin' fast.  On B2B cruises just burn off your old minutes the day before or the morning that the ship transistions from one cruise to the next.

Never fail to search for a harbor open wifi connection so can conserve your ship minutes but be very aware as to what Internet connection you are actually using.

Don't forget to use your spouses' Internet minutes after you use up your own.

If you booked a long cruise instead of B2B version of the long cruise you will still get rewarded with new Internet minutes when the ship transistions from the first leg to the second leg of the long cruise.
