You CC folks MUST CREDIT PRINCESS CHATTER FOR THIS:
Non-expiring Princess Coffee Cards WILL expire sometime in 2012. They are being replaced by EXPIRING Coffee Cards to start being issued within a few weeks.
and a FWIW:
You CAN still buy gun fountain drinks for $1.50 plus tip even though the waiters DO NOT want you to buy them because they make a smaller tip than they would when they sell a canned drink.

Seeing that the old versions of the cards were good forever for unlimited brewed coffee it's understandable that they should have done something to correct the situation. Still I believe they should offer better coffee than what they offer for free. I still drink it but only when it's diluted with ice & cream. The old cards were passed to family, friends & being sold on eBay so it's no surprise that they finally did something to stop it. We very ofter take 16 oz bottles of soda on board with us & replenish them at different ports when convenient sometimes. We've even bought 2 liter bottles at different ports when we could fine them.

I'm hearing there may be new pricing on the coffee card. Fifty dollars US was mentioned. Passenger Services knows more but isn't talking.

We never used a whole card, even on a 15 day cruise. I don't remember how many punches there were but it was about $30. So depending on how long the new cards are good for, it just may not be practical anymore; we only cruise once a year.

I remember when they cost 24.95, and in a couple of coupon books it was a BOGO. Last few times no BOGO and now costs 29.95. I will not be buying it if it can't be used on a couple of ships. I will just bring my travel coffee mug with me when I get my morning pastry! (less calories too)

I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to the coffee card price on my Ruby cruise last week.
I did read something on ship though that said the cards were for that sailing only. They just don't want you using them for multiple cruises. They want to pocket the revenue for unused cards.
HAL did this change years ago on the soda card, which also used to have punches but moved to the Princess version.

The $33.35 (incl tip) new expiring coffee cards rolled out TODAY on the Sapphire Princess. They are a different color and design but the same shape. There is a place on the back of the new card for the ship name and sailing date. They still have 15 punches. The brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate perks EXPIRE at the end of that particular cruise. It's still unclear if the entire card expires as well.
More news at five.

I do not drink coffee & the tea & hot chocolate in other places of the ship are fine with me. I have no problem with them...

GAME OVER The free brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate privileges on the playing card coffee cards like the one I just bought on leg 1 of my B2B cruise that I'm now on HAVE EXPIRED. Ditto for the brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate on the new coffee cards at the end of your cruise. The unused punches can be carried over to future cruises, at least for the moment. I have a sinking feeling that Princess is going to deep six those unused punches before long.

chip . . .chip . . .chip . . . . they keep chipping away at the things that have made Princess special. Maybe it IS time to start looking around--Elite status or not.

Now they are refusing to even apply unused punches toward brewed coffee, tea and hot chocalate on the player coffee cards like the "non-expiring" one I just bought on leg 1 of this two leg B2B cruise.

That makes no sense at all. They would rather make you some fancy coffee drink than just pour you a cup of coffee?

We bought Coffee cards on our cruise just ended.
The cards have no expiry except that on the next cruise we can't us them for brewed coffee or tea.
Just fancy coffee's.

For Princess to refuse to let you use an unused punch for brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate is crazy.
