The ports of call were very good, but once you get to the French islands, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Tahiti, be aware that they are very expensive in comparison with the Hawaiian islands and the Samoan islands. The Samoan islands are lush with vegetation and the people are very friendly, be sure to check out Tisa's Barefoot Bar in Pago Pago for scenery and native food. Bora Bora was also Beautiful but not half as nice as Moorea which is truly spectacular (we loved it). The port of Papeete, Tahiti was just a big modern city, but we took a tour inland which was well worth it. You do not need to change your money at any of the ports, just use American dollars because changing your money aboard ship and then changing it back is a rip off. You may encounter rain (we did) but it was warm and we had no problems with it. We loved the native foods, and the coconut juice from immature coconuts, including the tasty soft inside. You will cross the equator and that was a fun day as you become true Shellbacks.
