I checked the retail Princess web price for a Voyage of the Glaciers 7 day cruise on the Coral Princess and I'm seeing roughly $2,000 per person with tax.  What's seriously wrong with this picture?

Well, nothing if you are talking about a mini-suite in July; but somehow I don't think that is what you are talking about. Roll Eyes

I'm talking about a balcony in July, probably a BD class balcony.

Yup, I'm showing $3915.14 total for two in a BD Balcony on July 23rd.  Pretty steep compared to a 7 day on Ruby Princess in a BD Balcony for $2068.00.  And Coral and Ruby are two very different ships.

Two very different itinerary's.  Ruby Princess isn't sailing to Alaska this summer.

Yes, it really points out the premium we pay to cruise Alaska.

Maybe they can get it from some people but when the price reaches that level I'm looking at a land trip.  Wink

If the price is over $150 per person per day for a standard balcony I start rethinking if I really want to book that cruise.  If the price is over $200 per person per day for a standard balcony I refuse to book that cruise.

A standard balcony on a 7 day Alaska cruise that is going for around $285 per person, per day. is bat guano crazy.

I also agree with you.  Their pricing Alaska much too high and although we want to return, are looking at other cruiselines.  Enough is enough.

All cruise lines except NCL  are about the same on a per diem rate.

True; and they are all too high, at least for this cruiser.  But as long as they keep filling ships the prices will stay up.
