1  Princess Cruising / Princess News Chatter / Re: Golden Princess to be moved to P&O Australia Fleet on: October 14, 2017, 06:11:59 PM

Back in 1998 I do remember we were on the Grand Princess out of Barcelona.  After arriving at the airport we were bused to the ship.  I do remember as we got close to the harbor we drove up over a hill & there was the docked ship in the harbor.  How beautiful she was there & also to cruise on her.  We had a beautiful balcony cabin & the cruise was wonderful.  I do remember cruising past the Rock of Gibraltar... a few cruises latter we did tour the Rock...  the Grand was new, fantastic & majestic...   Wink

6  Princess Cruising / Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: 14 Reasons You Should Never Take a Cruise on: February 13, 2017, 01:47:19 PM

I totally agree with all of what has already been said here by the previous persons two persons.  All 14 reasons listed are very much more good reasons to be aware of ahead of a cruise but certainly not any reasons to stay away from cruising... no way.  We have been on many a cruise as Elite passengers but certainly NOT afraid of them to not cruise at all.  If there are many people who are afraid of cruising for any or many of the printed reasons... then by all means don't go as you could ruin a perfectly enjoyable cruise for other people?  Stay home, be a "cruise pooper" you will miss so much of life all around our wonderful world...  More cabins available for all the rest of us cruisers to enjoy.   Grin...

Years ago we had to have 15 CRUISES to attain Elite.  Days were not the way they counted then...   Huh  Angry

15  Princess Cruising / Princess Cruise Agent Chatter / Re: Former travel agent accused of selling fake cruises on: May 14, 2016, 04:02:36 PM

Certainly Regency Cruises were not very new ships & I am talking about the 1980's when we were just beginning our many cruising years.  No comparison to today's ships (thank goodness)...  In those early years we were on ships where the elevators at one end of the ship went from top to middle of the ship... then walk to the other end of the ship to go from middle to lower section of the ship... to name one was the Queen E 2...  Most of today's ships are so much more enjoyable...  Wink...  Of course prices were really great then... A one week cruise to the Caribbean in Feb. 1984 on Costa's "Carla C"  cost us $799.00 each??
