1  Princess Cruising / Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: How to avoid bad cabins on: February 09, 2019, 08:22:51 AM
Against my better judgement we decided to return to the Caribbean in March one more time before the beginning of the summer season on the Crown Princess. We selected an obstructed view cabin which isn't typical for us on Emerald deck.
I know there's no problem with the location but I've got my fingers crossed about the AC being sufficient. Undecided
Time will tell.
2  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Carnival Cruise Line Adding New 3D X-Ray Machines at Cruise Ports on: February 09, 2019, 08:07:29 AM
From what I gather is, that it lets them see the bottle in the suit case with a viewer.
So if the liquor isn't in it's original bottle but disguised in some fashion they'll see they still won't be able to know what's in the container.
Sounds like another scare tactic to increase profits once more.
Maybe they should resort to alcohol sniffing dogs ??  Wink
Although if there's any scent of alcohol in the suitcase (mouthwash) we all might be stopped going through the line.  Cheesy

He expected them to put her on a tender & go back to Ft Lauderdale?
Somehow I can't imagine a tender traveling that distance.
Wouldn't she be better off on the ship even with limited doctor supervision?

I suppose Princess had to try something to attract younger families to cruise with them.
It still falls short of anything I've noticed on NCL, Carnival or RCI, but it's a start....not that I would ever like to see it become like a Carnival ship. Roll Eyes
5  Princess Cruising / Princess News & Princess Chatter / Re: Royal, Crown and Sky Princess to receive Ocean Medallion in 2019 on: February 06, 2019, 07:05:34 AM
I've found that the best thing about the Medallions ships is that you can't deactivate the Medallion or cruise card with a magnetic any more.
Other than opening your cabin door conveniently at times, it doesn't offer much more.  Wink

Maybe the 'real' purpose is to track passengers onboard.  Roll Eyes

I've no doubt about that.  Grin
6  Princess Cruising / Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: What to know when considering spa treatments on: February 04, 2019, 06:09:37 AM
It's become a ripoff for just about most things that are sold on any of the ships lately. Almost nothing that they sell as an "extra" is worth the money.
The only price reduction I've seen is for photo's over the years & that's only if you buy the package. Individually the price remains HIGH.
Spa treatments are probably one of their biggest profit margin items.... but still they can sell them (as well as their products) to the newbies.
7  Princess Cruising / Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: Biggest Tourist Traps at Cruise Ports in the Caribbean on: February 04, 2019, 06:02:32 AM
The other day at the Puerto Maya Pier there were so many people being checked for food as they exited the pier that they had to open the walkway to the left side of the shops. It must have taken us up 15 or 20 minutes to exit the checkpoint since they only had two inspectors working with their dogs.   Shocked
A very frustration way to start the day.  Undecided
8  Princess Cruising / Princess News & Princess Chatter / Re: Owning Carnival stock. Here's the latest. on: February 04, 2019, 05:51:03 AM
I never bought it as an investment anyways...only for the OBC they give me. Cheesy

As bad as it looked, they're stopping at the island today, Feb 4th.
I guess it didn't affect most of the buildings that are use by the public.

Can Princess be far behind?
Probably not.  Angry
I'll find out next week.
13  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Carnival room service to now cost you and don't forget to add a big tip on: January 08, 2019, 05:31:29 AM
Wow, they actually had second thoughts about charging. That's something that Princess doesn't normally do.
I guess they saw a rebellion from their loyal customers coming.
14  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Venice to charge day trippers up to $11 to visit on: January 04, 2019, 06:57:09 AM
Maybe we should start charging Italian visitors a fee to visit US ports?
15  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Trinidad cruise ship tourists grateful to still be alive on: January 04, 2019, 06:50:28 AM
Great place to visit.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
We stayed on the ship last month and didn't miss a thing.
