3  Princess Cruising / Princess News & Princess Chatter / Re: Sky Princess on: August 08, 2018, 05:07:03 AM
Not yet but we'll definitely be sailing on the Sky when it reaches the Caribbean in the winter of 2019.
I'm reading to many problems with the older ships lately, especially the food.
The only thing I don't like is that they'll only be sailing 7 day cruises.  Sad
It's much to short for us but I suppose they want to expose it to as many people as possible the first season.

I'm holding off on any criticism until I see the final result.
They just might have made a few changes to the Royal design that could improve some of the drawbacks of the last few ships.
Yes, it is big but larger ships are about the only way to keep up profits.

12. Thousands of kids on every ship.  Cheesy

It might be alright for a few times around the track, but unlimited?
Wouldn't it get a little boring?
9  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Miami billboards accuse cruise ships that sail to Cuba on: July 20, 2018, 08:51:04 AM
It kind of makes me wonder....who is benefiting from the port charges.
Surely the people are seeing increases in tours, sales of merchandise.

Maybe they can show "USS Indianapolis" for entertainment?  Roll Eyes

I began seen that last Nov/Dec on the Royal. They wouldn't bring one unless you asked for it.
Ordering ice tea at lunch was sometimes frustrating.
You had to specifically ask for a straw, ice & lemon. At first I though it was only certain servers but after a while it occurred to me that they all seemed to be following instructions.
I don't think they liked the idea either since it just led to more trips back & forth to get everything.
Oh btw- the straws were absent from the self service location so people couldn't just help themselves.
I'd like to see how people are going to handle some of those drinks that have fruit & foam at the top of the glass without a straw. Grin

Couldn't agree more with your title. Looks like money spent to attract people to spend more & not provide anything really new like fixing the food prep & layout of the Horizon to mimic the Royal class.
These older ships should be sold off & the money put to better use competing with other cruise lines.

She seems perfect for the team.  Cheesy Cheesy
Why bother to hire someone who knows the travel industry? Get people who know clothing, jewelry & perfume.  Grin

Great thing about Doubletree is that they let you park your car in a specific place on their lot for your entire cruise.  I have done so for 28 day So. Pacific cruise.  If you live within driving distance to San Pedro and your cruise starts and ends in San Pedro you can't beat their PARK and CRUISE package.  Great hotel, great service, good prices!!
Hotels in Ft Lauderdale do something similar but some limit you to a max number of days (around 10 to 14) & then begin charging per day. I've never seen anything close to 28 days.

I've been banned so many times from CC I can't remember all my past screen names.
Unfortunately even the mention of this site will get you a warning from Cruise Critic.
I will say their site does have a load of information that can't be found elsewhere.....so I continue to post there even with the warnings.  Cheesy
