1  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Royal sailing on the 20th of March on: February 13, 2018, 11:22:47 AM
We'll be getting off on Mar 10.
From what I'm reading it appears to be rough weather right now...wind, rain, etc.
It might be altogether different in a month.

I'm not to sure about Princess being totality responsible.

I'm sooooo happy to see something new besides another dance & singing routine from the Broadway hits of years ago.  Cheesy
I'll b on the first Royal showing & I'd bet the place will be packed 45 minutes before showtime.

All I can say is we never get Noro but seem to always pick up cold viruses in the winter.

They'll be sufficient germs floating around in the air so touching surfaces might be the least of you're worries.

Besides all of the ways to keep gastro illness at bay we believe having a balcony is another way to keep gastro germs at bay.  We always enter our cabin, wash our hands, open the balcony door.  Depending on the time of day or night we allowed the sunshine & fresh air in the cabin.  We even had the balcony door open part way during the night.  Hearing the waves slap at the ship was very soothing.  Whenever we were in our cabin, the balcony door was open all the way or part way.  We believed that was a fact for keeping us away from the gastro virus...  Just a helpful suggestion to cabin cruisers.   Grin

You obviously don't require AC.

Is the unlimited internet a trial thing on this ship?
Is it for everyone?  Huh

It seems to hit all the ships sooner or later.
Hard to stop it.
Right now I'm more concerned about the flu that appears to be spreading through all parts of the US.  Sad
I'm going to be a little more cautious being cooped up with 3,000 passengers from all parts of the world. Wink

Thank you. This spreadsheet is more useful than anything else around.
10  Princess Cruising / Cruising Chatter / Re: Sun Princess sold to China -2019. Ruby Princess based in Australia- 2020 on: December 16, 2017, 06:54:14 PM
Makes sense. I expected the Sun and the Sea to go with the new builds coming out. Surprised that the Ruby is going rather than another Grand class.

2019 - 1 New Royal
2020 - 1 "Upgraded" Royal
2021 - 1 "Upgraded" Royal
2023+ - 1 "Upgraded' Royal (According the Captain on the last cruise)

So do they still consider the Emerald based in Australia?

Golden to P&O in 2020, Sun to China in 2019, Ruby based in Australia in 2020, Emerald already there, Sea will probably go to P&O or be sold...

Look's like we are facing an invasion of the Royal class...

What did "upgraded" mean? Stairs, rear pool??
11  Princess Cruising / Princess News Chatter / Re: Changes or no changes noticed on the Caribbean Princess - Nov. 2017 on: December 13, 2017, 07:30:15 AM
That's why I never, ever schedule an early flight out of FLL.

We were on the Royal that morning & I couldn't believe a cruise ship returning that late in the day to port.
Originally I thought it was because they were having engine problems.

The Brits who sail with P&O UK are not happy. Roll Eyes  But who cares? Kiss

Now is that any attitude?  Cheesy Cheesy Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
13  Princess Cruising / Princess News Chatter / Re: Changes or no changes noticed on the Caribbean Princess - Nov. 2017 on: December 12, 2017, 08:40:14 AM
CP was late because 2 1/2 hours north of Grand Cayman the ship reversed course to return to Grand Cayman with a sick passenger. Then the ship reversed course again to sail to Ft Lauderdale at reduced speed due to a malfunctioning electric propulsion motor. Because of the very late arrival in Ft Lauderdale ALL EZ bag off bookings were cancelled for flights before noon.  It was a total zoo on the ship for those wanting early offs with all their bags.  No one was allowed off of the ship until all tagged bags were off.
Bad day for everyone. We drive so it wouldn't have been all bad but I would have hated to have an early flight.  Sad

About time. There are too many Elites as it is.
15  Princess Cruising / Princess News Chatter / Re: Port Everglades terminal two adds technology for Princess on: December 11, 2017, 09:22:56 AM
There were a few new furnishings & some new paint on the walls here & there. I suppose if you haven't been there in a while it might look completely different.
I did notice a better WiFi connection one time & then I went back another day & it was lousy. Strange.
They much still be working on it.
