Princess News & General Princess Chatter / Re: Move over offers

It's been so long ago but I think it was around $400. Not really sure but the cabin they gave us was way forward, almost at the bow. Lots of walking.

Not exactly the same thing but we once received an offer to skip the cruise for a later one with OBC included.

We always seem to find a quiet spot no mater how crowded the ship.
People just love the main pool for some reason & then complain where there are no seats at 10 AM.

It's one of the main reasons we don't get the package. My wife hardly drinks at all so it certainly doesn't pay for her.
They should just limit the drinks to 15 per person and at least I would buy the package. As it is, they get no profit from us.

Not really sure what impact this will have. Maybe they consider activities on the 'island' as taxable.  :-\

That wouldn't surprise me in the least.

We missed Princess Cays last cruise and they returned $33 per person port charges back to our account. That wasn't bad considering we weren't getting off anyway and it almost paid for a dinner at a Specialty restaurant.  ;D

Has anyone looked at the price Princess now charges for shipboard weddings lately?
It's cheaper to elope first & then go on a cruise in a full suite.

143
In the days when we would let them take our luggage off the ship, we would always use a color right before ours so that when we got to the terminal our bags would always be standing there alone.

144
Forget the limited cabin size, what about the bathroom traffic.  ;D

I have no problem with using the Medallion system and enjoy all of it's features, except the purchase of items at a vendor off the ship. To me it just invites a possible problem with billing and definitely paying extra to Princess to luxury of using the feature.

From what I've been seeing about the Icon of the Sea, Princess better get their act together very quickly. RCCL is outdoing the competition by leaps & bounds.
Not that I need the water slides or bumper cars but it sure does look appealing even to the older folks.

Q: If I drop my Medallion in a port, can someone else use it? Have you had issues with that?

A: If we have, it's so miniscule that I don't even know about it. ... Every merchant, if there's any issue, can do triple-factor authentication because they have the security photos associated with you participating in the service; you have the physical object, that's two-factor. When you go into port destinations, all guests are advised to carry a picture government ID, even if it's a U.S. location. And so that can be a triple authentication if the merchant wants to do so.

That might be true off the ship for lost medallions but they still haven't fixed the flaw for medallions lost on the ship. They can be used for entry into the cabin until you report it lost. Also the cabin location can be found by going to any of the display boards located around the ship.

Oh well, Princess isn't stopping there anyway.

It appears that they're making a considerable amount of money even if the ships don't stop there.
I guess they don't need the income.  ::)

Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: B2B on Princess

Yes, either on you own or going as a group. One way or the other they have to make everyone clear the ship to zero the count.
I always get off & return to my car in Florida (we always do B2B trips) to bring items we don't need on our second voyage, like laundry, gifts, purchases, etc.. My wife stays aboard & always gets off the ship with the group. It can be aggravating at times since there are always a few people who are late for the meeting the group to depart the ship. They don't think it's all that important & can show up when they feel like it.  >:(
I stay in the hotel coffee shop and wait till they're boarding or go shopping if we need something... sunscreen, wine, soda.
They provide an in-transit card but it only bypasses a few steps to get back on the ship ahead of everyone else.
