Yea, that was a rough one for sure.
Years ago (before 9-11) I forgot our passports & had to go home for them while my wife waited at the terminal. I arrived back to the ship 5 minutes before they shut the doors. They shut the door as we stepped in.
Funny thing is they let us aboard.
I guess those days are gone forever.

Another money maker.

It looks similar to that of RCI. At least in the bow.

But will the $14.99 charge be waved if I had booked with last year with the old Plus price?

The last three are on borrowed time.

Remove all those formal clothes & shoes (no longer a requirement) & half of the casual clothing.
Do a load of laundry or send it it and it'll leave plenty of room in your suitcase.

Thankfully Princess doesn't allow it. Considering the age of the people we cruise with, their doing me a favor. 

I'm convinced that the cruise lines have had reoccurring problems with some or the same rooms on almost every cruise & they hold back on assigning them unless they can fill their ships.
Once your in the cabin some people might not complain while the the people that do can be appeased for a while and if they complain long and hard enough they be issued some cabin credit. Either way the cruise line is ahead since you've already paid for the cabin and if they can change you room then everyone is happy.

I know from past experience that certain rooms on 2 different Princess ships have had unresolvable AC problems for years now. I've read complaints from passengers about the same problems we had.

On one ship they moved us to a mirror image cabin on the other side of the ship only to have the same exact cooling problem.
Bottom line- Princess's profits come ahead of customer satisfaction.
Thankfully this has only occurred 2 time in all our years sailing Princess but it had made us leery about sailing older ships with design problems that can't be corrected. .
