"Looking for a last-minute deal on a Princess Cruises voyage? We have bad news: You're probably not going to find one.
In what it's calling a dramatic shift in its pricing strategy, the world's fifth-largest cruise line on Thursday said it would no longer offer last-minute discounts for cabins on unsold voyages."

You can take that to the bank.

There goes onboard revenue when the ship sails half full due to no last-minute deals. This hurts the cabin steward tip fund as well. Princess should realize that half a loaf is better than no loaf. I believe that Princess will clearly realize this over time.

That idea may have sounded good on paper but how naive do they believe people to be? They'll never let their ships sail 2/3 filled when give the opportunity to reduce prices.

This might have worked with an exclusive product. There are many lines competing for the cruise dollar.

On the mail out offers from Princess READ THE PRINCESS OFFER FINE PRINT.

Princess is NOT done offering deals. The Sky Princess 16 day repositioning ticket price for the Princess March 9th cruise from FLL to Southampton is dirt cheap. The cruise deal killers are optional hotels and the cost of the LHR airfare back to the U.S.

That airfare has always keep it from being a "deal".
