That sounds like a fun trip.  :(

I noticed that on the Ruby, a crew member who was making Lavazza percolated coffee at the buffet would add 2 new packets of grounds to the existing used grounds.
I'm not sure if this is common practice on all the ships. I thought it was strange he didn't just empty out the old grinds first. It must give inconsistent strengths of coffee.
I pretty much don't drink their coffee except for the blended ice coffee. It all seems to strong to me.

If you cruise often enough you'll find that does occur from time to time.
There's not much that you can do about it, except whine.

As long as it's only recommended I'll be content. The moment it becomes a "requirement" we'll once again postpone our cruising until things settle down.

Who reads the cruise contract, until you have a problem.  ;)

That's what I've been using for years.

I'm not totally eliminating it for now.
We'll wait till the price is reasonable.

That airfare has always keep it from being a "deal".

From what I heard they've done away with the wooden skewers also. I guess they're bad for the environment also or maybe they're just to expensive. ??

Since I refuse to pay for shipping my medallion I guess I'll have to remain in the blue line forever.  ;)

We just returned from the Ruby (Nov 6th sailing) and found some things a little disappointing. The production shows are really outdated, but that was to be expected.
Buffet food was really disappointing to say the least. Very little variety with sometimes only 1 main item offered. We had a lot of port days & couldn't use the DR for lunch.

The redeeming thing was the food in the DR which we found pretty good overall. We never had one bad meal in the DR.

One night we went to the Crown Grill & it was terrible. We had 2 or 3 appetizers each although our waitress pointed out that it was limited to only 1 appetizer but she had to confirm it with the Chef to get approval for more.  :(
Our main course of Rack of Veal was so tough neither of us actually finished it. For $80 spent, we wouldn't return anytime soon.

Most of the crew did a good job except for the new cruise director, Jess. Her constant screaming into her mic made her announcements unbearable. We're used to a more laid back attitude for a CD & her attitude was more suited for a Carnival cruise.  ::)
Maybe were just getting to old for that bubbly attitude. She certainly didn't fit the typical Princess stereotype.

Good place for it.

Thankfully they've left one of their better ships sailing 10 day trips from Ft Lauderdale this season.  ;D :D
I've read some so-so reports about their food lately so I'm anxious to see how accurate the posting were. It's hard to believe what some people post unless you personally know them.
We were on the ship last March & had no complaints about crew, shows or any of the food, but things can often change.

It could be interesting if done correctly but something tells me I'll just be another advertisement to book a cruise.
