I don't understand his logic. What difference does it make if the cruise line asks if a person has been vaccinated or not?
Some people are just to sensitive about protecting their information.

You would think that it would be a standard on all cruise lines.

When they do convene cruising I'll not sure I'll really like the product they'll be offering. :(
Not that it's under their control.
It might take years to return to the same old style cruising, if at all.

I would have liked to sail on that ship but the number of times it sailed RT from Port Everglades was limited & we never made it.
Oh well.
At this point I suppose it'll be a while to sail on any Princess ship.

Cruising Chatter / Re: Virus pops up on RCCL

After all the news being reported about one person getting the virus it was a false positive in the end.
I can see it happening again as soon as the ships get under way from US ports.
It makes me thing hard about booking any cruise anytime soon....even though I would like to.

Cruising Chatter / Virus pops up on RCCL

As much as I would like to get back cruising once again in 2021, things like this make me think long & hard about when we'll even get back to the old days.  :'(

If this continues until the middle of next year I think they'll be more sales to follow.

Everything is really quiet lately.
We're not even thinking about a cruise until they have a vaccine and things get back to a somewhat normal situation. I can't even think about cruising having to wear a mask at the shows & around the pool.

If this is any indication of how quickly the virus spreads on a cruise ship, I think we all have a long way to go before sailing again anytime soon.  :(

And yet "Royal Caribbean Group and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings together launched the "Healthy Sail Panel," as it's being called, with the goal of looking at every facet of safety, from whether ultraviolet lights can effectively kill the virus to how to improve meal service."

As much as we would like to get back to cruising once again we'll be waiting for vaccine before we even think about venturing back again.  :(
Although they're expecting something to arrive in 2021, we'll still wait until they begin cruising without any incidents for many months. My thinking is that if an outbreak is to happen, it'll occur on a cruise ship since it's just about impossible to avoid contact with other people.  :(
I'm hoping that Princess will still be around in a few years but the way it looks I'm not sure they can hold out that long.

Cruising Chatter / 40,000 crew still at sea
« on: June 15, 2020, 04:35:20 AM »
It's almost hard to believe that this many crew are still stranded on RCCL ships & cannot return home.

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/tourism-cruises/article243398711.html

After 80 days at sea, three transfers between ships, four canceled flights and one plane malfunction, Royal Caribbean Cruises music director Bruno Cruells finally touched down in his native Argentina on June 3, accompanied by 251 compatriots. Sitting behind the taxi’s new plexiglass on the way home from the airport with his hometown whizzing by out the window, he felt relief.

“I felt like I was finally safe somehow,” said Cruells, 30, “like continuing from where I left before all of this happened.”

As more countries loosen COVID-19 travel restrictions, crew members are slowly making their way home. About 3,000 Carnival Cruise Line workers got off in Croatia earlier this month to catch rides and flights home across Europe. Smiling behind their masks, they posed for a selfie on the pier.

Princess News & Princess Chatter / New lawsuits for Princess
« on: June 11, 2020, 09:09:08 AM »
Does it ever end?  ???

Two new lawsuits allege that Princess Cruises didn't take adequate steps to protect passengers on two ships that became the focus of international attention when they were struck by outbreaks of the coronavirus.

After a six-month odyssey around the world, during which it was hit by coronavirus and saw the oceans dramatically empty of other vessels, the last cruise liner still carrying passengers has made its final port of call, delivering its eight guests to a world vastly changed from the one they set sail in.

It very well might be standard procedure for many other ports as well depending on a rise in future infections.

Chill everybody.  Princess will be baaaack.
Probably so but what will a cruise look like in the future?
Unless there's a vaccine to prevent further infection, I'm not sure I would enjoy what they'll offer as a cruise vacation. ie (possible) - limited seating at all venues, no buffet, long tender waits, maybe even tickets being distributed for the shows.  :(
