Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: Can you use your cellphone on a cruise?

Also download What'sApp for contacting people at home and on the ship. It provides an audible alert when messaging where using the medallion, does not.

I'm convinced that the cruise lines have had reoccurring problems with some or the same rooms on almost every cruise & they hold back on assigning them unless they can fill their ships.
Once your in the cabin some people might not complain while the the people that do can be appeased for a while and if they complain long and hard enough they be issued some cabin credit. Either way the cruise line is ahead since you've already paid for the cabin and if they can change you room then everyone is happy.

I know from past experience that certain rooms on 2 different Princess ships have had unresolvable AC problems for years now. I've read complaints from passengers about the same problems we had.

On one ship they moved us to a mirror image cabin on the other side of the ship only to have the same exact cooling problem.
Bottom line- Princess's profits come ahead of customer satisfaction.
Thankfully this has only occurred 2 time in all our years sailing Princess but it had made us leery about sailing older ships with design problems that can't be corrected. .

To this day I can't see how anyone can "accidently" fall over a cruise ship railing.  ::)

Lots of great choices if money was no object.  ;D

We always try to get mid ship as much as possible to minimize the walking. Not that we don't need the exercise but it does get boring after a while.  ;)

Yes on the excursions. I have witnessed a couple of times people waving running down the dock as the ship pulls away.

Most times because they were shopping or drinking at a bar to long. ;D
The tour operators pride themselves in the fact that they always get passengers back to the ship in time.

If you buy alcohol in a port, you'll have to check it upon reentering the ship

While it might be a lot cheaper to book your tours independent of the ship, it's also a lot riskier.

Passengers not formally dressed on this evening aren't allowed to eat in the main dining rooms,

Yes and no.

There are plenty more ways.  ;D

They didn't think to add extra medication in case for some reason you get delayed for a few weeks.

THE PLASTIC-FREE PASSENGER
More than eight of ten cruise passengers recycle (82%) and reduce using single-use plastics
(80%) while traveling. Seven out of ten cruisers forego plastic straws.

Since there are no plastic straws on Princess I would say this percentage is a little low.  ;D

82% OF CRUISERS LIKELY TO BOOK A
CRUISE AS THEIR NEXT VACATION

This number will probably change drastically in the near future.

In this situation what else would you expect.  :o

We didn't experience any unusual precaution being taken on the Regal recently- even during this latest virus outbreak.

If I lived on the west coast I'd take advantage of the better pricing for sure.

It's typical that they always seem to have exclusions for major catastrophes.  ::)

Even if I could afford it, I'd get so bored after 30 days (and fat) that I would be longing for home ASAP.  :D
