From what I've seen so far the buffet is divided into sections so I'll probably skip many of them & head right to the Italian area. we usually are the first to arrive for lunch & dinner so that may solve many of the seating problems.
I have hear people say the the self service drinks are not available (as a second thought) so it might not still be as bad if you can't find a server.
I suppose it is more sanatory to have them serve all the food although I do prefer to serve myself & take as much or little as I want. If they do that with the mixed salad it's something I'll skip altogether as I only prefer to select what I want, not what they decide to pick.
If they load up to much of a particular item I can always dump it.

I'm beginning to think that of a lot of venue's on the new Sun.
Perhaps Princess is thinking they'll be catering to a much different clientele than who's been sailing previously.

As much as I would really enjoy the experience, at $300 per couple, they've gone beyond my limit of enjoyment.

I just can't believe that the buffet can be that crowded. It's larger than the Royal class ships and much larger than anything prior. I guess I'll have to see for myself.
Why they thought it wouldn't be necessary to have a built in drink station like all the other ships is weird.
Miss: O’Malley’s and Princess Live Are Too Popular for Their Own Good
It could be that most people now have the package & don't want to fight the buffet crowd?

I've been checking out all of the latest reviews on the new Sun Princess and walked away with the opinion that most of the new & exciting things are pay for options.
Yes, there are new areas to explore but most are now pay per events aimed at collecting extra $$$ even at paying a premium price for their basic cruise.
Their new design is leaving us a little confused but excited to see for ourselves if we really like it. We're mostly happy with the Royal class ships.
I might change my views on that after sailing in Nov but for now I'm still undecided.

The longer you cruise the more you begin to realize how overpriced most of those tours really are. Today, unless you're spending over $150 p/p you would be better off going on your own and hire a cab, especially in the Caribbean.

I fully agree with the article.
They've gotten out of hand with the "packages" and we now consider then as luxuries we can do without. Even the specialty restaurants are now something we only indulge in maybe once a year, if that.
We're just ordinary folks on a fixed income and are lucky to take the basic cruise itself without having to add in an additional thousand for all the extras.

In general I agree that the article is mostly accurate but anyone who's sailed Princess will know that many things are just parroting what Princess publishes and can be taken with a grain of salt.
