« on: August 23, 2017, 03:35:06 PM »
"Princess Cruises says Kristy Manzanares, a 39-year-old Utah woman, died in the attack that's believed to have resulted from a domestic dispute. Passengers told CBS News' Jamie Yuccas that the couple involved was traveling with a large group that included their children.

A federal search warrant affidavit says Emerald Princess security and medical personnel responded just after 9 p.m. to an incident in cabin D726, registered to guests Kenneth Manzanares and the victim."

"Kristy Manzanares was found in the cabin dead with a severe head wound, and "blood was spread throughout the room on multiple surfaces," the affidavit said.  Kenneth Manzanares was in the cabin with blood on his hands and clothing, a responding security officer told the FBI agent who signed the affidavit."

"JUNEAU, Alaska, June 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Federal court documents suggest that attorneys in the first-degree murder case of Kenneth Manzanares — the Utah man charged in the 2017 beating death of his wife, Kristy Manzanares, on an Alaskan cruise ship — are negotiating a plea deal.

Federal court documents filed Friday and obtained by Gephardt Daily show that prosecutor Bryan Schroder, Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Alaska, has filed for a motion of “expedited consideration.”

"JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) – A Utah man has agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder in the death of his wife during a 2017 cruise to Alaska. The plea agreement signed by Kenneth Manzanares states he and his wife, Kristy Manzanares, had been arguing about his behavior when she told him she wanted a divorce. The document states that Manzanares acknowledged hitting his wife, seeing blood, striking her again and having no memory after that. Manzanares previously pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. A change of plea hearing is scheduled for Friday."
