"Reports indicate that the Bahamas intends to impose a 10% charge on goods and services offered by cruise lines on their private islands."

"As per The Tribune, the Bahamian government intends to implement a new charge on March 1, ending a nine-year exemption for private islands from the Bahamas' value-added tax (VAT)."

Not really sure what impact this will have. Maybe they consider activities on the 'island' as taxable.  :-\

That wouldn't surprise me in the least.

We missed Princess Cays last cruise and they returned $33 per person port charges back to our account. That wasn't bad considering we weren't getting off anyway and it almost paid for a dinner at a Specialty restaurant.  ;D
