"A plan for three cruise stops in Yorktown beginning in June is now dead in the water.

The stops would have been part of a pilot program for Princess Cruises, testing the viability of Yorktown and the Historic Triangle for more frequent stops in the future. The president of the company, John Padgett, a York County native, told residents last August that Yorktown would be an ideal port of call for one of the cruise line’s smaller ships, the Island Princess."
