Cruising Tips Chatter / Re: B2B on Princess

Sometimes you have a Princess staffer lead your B2B group off of the ship and then immediately leads your group right back on the ship.

Will hope and inquire as to if this is happening on this go around. Makes perfect sense for Princess and the re-passengers.

We don't have our vehicle at the port, but your planned restock idea is genius. Will remember this one! 👍

Both Mike and I experienced this first hand with the Ruby inaugural in 2008, but they advanced the sailing to one week earlier. Still was a good cruise, but yeah..  all of the thrill of being on an inaugural was dampened.

"The price for a single-device WiFi now stands at $24.99 per day, a steep rise of around 65% from the previous price of $14.99 per person per day.

For a four-device package, the price increase is not that significant but still sits at around 12.5% at $44.99 per package, up from $39.99. This change is set to affect pre-cruise purchases made after January 22, 2024. From January 31, the onboard price of internet packages will also increase."

We have witnessed this first hand. Bought a 4 device package for R408, and again for R409 on the Ruby. Two different prices. I told my DW about your travel router idea, and I'm considering this for the future.

1st b2b coming up in March. Do they make you get off the ship?

Bravo Mike. 👏👏👏

Recognition of the traffic flow problem at pier 21 is important. It makes the airport departure at FLL look good. Welcome news of the attention.

53
It's already rather expensive. Now at over $400 for a two week cruise, (with the 50 percent platinum/elite discount).

Simply put, this demonstrates what a casino-roll the bid for upgrade process is. The ongoing DIN of shuffling deck chairs would get annoying quickly. Definitely a case for cabin selection.

55
That's an ugly 'upgrade'. Was that using the 'bid on an upgrade' offer?

The shows on the Emerald just before Christmas were... marginal, and that's being kind. Undoubtedly the pandemic had carryover effects making dancers and performers more scarce. Nice to see ambitious goals being set.

It's definitely an interesting and fresh approach.

Perhaps the best way to experience this is to just dive in, and book. The Grand class does have peculiarities that 'tag' the age and design choices. Much has  changed with larger vessels, lessons learned, and managing the flow of people.

You mention better layout. Is there a specific vessel that comes to mind?

Almost, well every cruise I have been on has been on a Grand Class vessel, or older. Inevitably I will have opportunities to sail on newer vessels. This topic is to solicit the experience and opinions of those who've sailed newer vessels. Information as to cabin selection, deck and cabin layouts, theater seating, alternative restaurants and the like are all welcome. It would be nice to initiate the next page in cruising with the sage words of experienced cruisers. Please chime in. What you know is always of greater value than you think.
