Sapphire Princess Chatter / One of the two propulsion motors is off line
« Last post by Host Mike on May 13, 2024, 05:56:33 AM »
We are hearing that  the Sapphire speed is down to 15 knots and their itinerary is being revised.  No Ketchikan and no College Fjords so far.  One of the Sapphire's two propulsion motors is off line.  Passengers received a letter saying that Princess is trying to decided how to compensate everyone.  Lexi Brunner, a passenger on the ship, says that even so, they are still having a wonderful time.

Sapphire Princess Chatter / Propulsion issues

Rumors of a switchgear issue on the starboard propulsion motor, per users on Reddit. Has anyone else heard of these problems? I hate rumors, but rumors are often news that hasn't been picked up by media.

That's also an excellent photo of the Diamond.

That's not a bad price.

It's been many years since our last Alaskan cruise. I'll bet the towns are really super busy what the ships are in.

I can't really believe that Disney can still attract as many people as it once did 20+ years ago.
"Thanks to his background at Disney, Padgett knew the premium that customers were prepared to pay for high-quality themed entertainment so he made it a priority at Princess."

With statement like that we can all expect to be paying even more for basic service.

I can kind of agree with the video but at the same time he's making comments in general that can't be applied to all they're ships.

Does Princess believe that enough new customers exist that endearing past passengers is no longer important?
Expanding offerings to attract new cruisers is a sound approach. Perhaps they're crunching numbers, and have determined the potential trend of repeat cruisers aging out of the future market. Oh to be a fly on the wall.

"The problem is, Princess Cruises has to start putting its guests first. They need to hire someone who knows what their customers want and give them precisely that. Princess has one of the most loyal client base, and all they have been doing lately is slowly depleting it. Princess, we know you see this; stop messing around!"

Editor: This article tells how ex Disney John Padgett and Vicki Johnson are working hard to convert the Princess we knew to high dollar Disney park type themed entertainment.
