We'll see very shortly just how good the service is.

"Additionally, Princess Cruises has added a new, one-time activation fee of $14.99 for OceanNow on-demand food and drinks delivery to your location on the ship, no matter where you are. The fee will be waived for passengers who book either of the all-inclusive packages."

But will the $14.99 charge be waved if I had booked with last year with the old Plus price?

You can take that to the bank.

I've been noticing less & less door decorations as time goes by.
Maybe the fad is over with.
We decorate our cabin on the inside.

Remove all those formal clothes & shoes (no longer a requirement) & half of the casual clothing.
Do a load of laundry or send it it and it'll leave plenty of room in your suitcase.

You still need evacuation insurance which I believe is the most important and costly.

"Most mainstream cruise lines — including Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line — no longer allow it."
Thankfully Princess doesn't allow it. Considering the age of the people we cruise with, their doing me a favor.  ;D

Also download What'sApp for contacting people at home and on the ship. It provides an audible alert when messaging where using the medallion, does not.

I'm convinced that the cruise lines have had reoccurring problems with some or the same rooms on almost every cruise & they hold back on assigning them unless they can fill their ships.
Once your in the cabin some people might not complain while the the people that do can be appeased for a while and if they complain long and hard enough they be issued some cabin credit. Either way the cruise line is ahead since you've already paid for the cabin and if they can change you room then everyone is happy.

I know from past experience that certain rooms on 2 different Princess ships have had unresolvable AC problems for years now. I've read complaints from passengers about the same problems we had.

On one ship they moved us to a mirror image cabin on the other side of the ship only to have the same exact cooling problem.
Bottom line- Princess's profits come ahead of customer satisfaction.
Thankfully this has only occurred 2 time in all our years sailing Princess but it had made us leery about sailing older ships with design problems that can't be corrected. .

To this day I can't see how anyone can "accidently" fall over a cruise ship railing.  ::)

Lots of great choices if money was no object.  ;D

We always try to get mid ship as much as possible to minimize the walking. Not that we don't need the exercise but it does get boring after a while.  ;)

Yes on the excursions. I have witnessed a couple of times people waving running down the dock as the ship pulls away.

Most times because they were shopping or drinking at a bar to long. ;D
The tour operators pride themselves in the fact that they always get passengers back to the ship in time.

If you buy alcohol in a port, you'll have to check it upon reentering the ship

While it might be a lot cheaper to book your tours independent of the ship, it's also a lot riskier.

Passengers not formally dressed on this evening aren't allowed to eat in the main dining rooms,

Yes and no.
